ADR Training, and moving dangerous goods by road, is subject to international regulations and is strictly policed. Most European countries sign up to the European Agreement. It concerns the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). Furthermore, each nation implements ADR specific safety measures through its own national statutory legislation.
Further information can be found here
The purpose of ADR, and likewise ADR Training, is to ensure that dangerous goods (including clinical and other dangerous waste) being carried by road can cross international borders freely. This is so as long as operators, with their vehicles and drivers, comply with its provisions. ADR has been in force since 1968 and is administered by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Due to technological advances and changes of legislation, it’s updated every 2 years.

The ADR course provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills. It covers being able to safely carry Hazardous and Dangerous Goods in accordance with the law. In addition, it ensures drivers are up to date with industry regulations and best practice. Furthermore, the ADR training will certify the operator (driver) in the relevant classes they take. After that, things do change so renewing it every 5 years is key.
ADR training is available at all of our sites or on your site using your facilities. ADR Courses are available six days a week. These are conducted (Mondays to Fridays) at our Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire driver training centres. Therefore, check out our latest course availability by phone or email. ADR (Dangerous Goods) training should be informative with a balance of theory and practice. The content should be up to date with industry and delivered by a professional ADR instructor. So, it should always involve imparting knowledge and best practice, with your contributions and experiences. In other words, you can be confident in our Instructors and with our ADR Course.
Your ADR course with Trailer Training UK has current approval by the governing body, SQA. It is also approved and registered with JAUPT. Therefore, you can be eligible to apply for additional free Periodic Driver CPC. Although we welcome it, we are a centre that rarely gets a visit, enjoying successful auditing by SQA and JAUPT.
As a result of passing the SQA exams at the end of the course, they will notify the DVSA. They will then issue a Dangerous Goods Certificate (ADR Licence Card) for 5 years. Finally, we can then help you find employment into the industry utilising your new ADR training and ADR licence.
